Mykonos by night: the best of Mykonos nightlife

Mykonos has an infamous nightlife scene. This much we know. Though choosing where to party the night away into the small hours is a big deal. Happily, though, the nightlife isn’t all about clubbing and 4am stops at a souvlaki grill. Yes, there are super clubs waiting to welcome you with open arms and more than a few shots – but there are also glamorously camp bars, beach clubs and refined restaurants too.

Battle of the islands: Mykonos vs Santorini

If you’re mulling over the idea of a Greek getaway with no particular plans, Santorini and Mykonos are both VERY appealing. Sun-drenched beaches, coastal cuisine and seas in just about every shade of blue are staples of both islands – so there’s little to separate them there. The only way to choose is to delve deeper into some island essentials.

Salzburg

It’s no secret that this city is all about maximising its Mozart and musical links. It flip flops between inviting you to take a suitably lux pew for a concerto or lining up for a borderline schmaltzy take on the Sound of Music. Do both during your visit, and you’ll be well rewarded.

Phuket

Picture Mauritius. We’re going to be a tad presumptuous and say you saw long, sandy beaches, a palm-dense shoreline and waters some would describe as azure. And for the most part, that’s not a bad shout. The Mauritius PR engine has done a grand job. But we’ve got great news. They missed out the mountains, forests, tea plantations, national parks, waterfalls and some intriguing endemic wildlife. We could go on – but there’s no fun to be had in finding out everything before you land. We’ve saved some surprises for you.
