Las Vegas Travel Guide

The growth of Las Vegas as a prime holiday spot has moved it well past the days of the seedy moniker of Sin City. You can spend a whole month on a Las Vegas holiday without even touching a slot machine or rolling a pair of dice, and still not come close to seeing all this oasis of fun has to offer; everything from amusement parks to world class restaurants can be found in the scorching heat of the Nevada desert. More than anything, the city is a testament to the ability of humans to not only survive but thrive in the most inhospitable of conditions.

With all that being said, there’s no doubt the thrill of the blackjack table is a massive draw for the city. It would be crazy to deny the importance of the casinos on the strip, and we’re not going to, especially when the culture is so ingrained that even the local McDonalds has slot machines. However, whilst Las Vegas trips were traditionally just about gambling (and many still are) we’re also not going to pretend the plethora of other activities available during holidays in Las Vegas aren’t just as prone to make your heart pump as watching the roulette wheel spin. So, strap in tight: we’re here to show you how to make the most of the entertainment capital of the world, properly.

Viva Las Vegas

Las Vegas is fairly isolated in the middle of the desert, and the weather is pretty much as you’d expect: hot and dry, especially in the summer months. Over winter, it does get a little cooler during the day and a bit chilly at night, but even so, you probably won’t need to pack your winter coat. Almost everywhere is air conditioned, including public transport, so you won’t be out in the heat too long.
